New Pictures

Since I haven't been on here in quite some time, I thought I'd post some new pictures of the family. I can't believe how much the kids have grown in the past year. Declan is 13.5 now, in karate and thinks he has all of life's answers. Cian will be 12 next Wednesday and doesn't have a clue about ANY of life's answers....lol. He loves Mindcraft though. Liam is 10 and in his own little world. He's our special needs child, but gets a little better every day. Fionn is 8 going on 16. He's incredibly smart, a straight A student with a soft heart, but don't piss him off, you'll regret it....lol. Mary is our first girl, she's 7 and full of life. She is very smart and very helpful. She's my little Mama. Lizzie is our shy girl. She's 6, small and very quiet, but don't let her fool you, she's got a hot temper when someone rubs her the wrong way. Then there's Sammy, 4 and full of terror. You can't take your eyes off that one for 2 minutes without him getting into some kind of trouble with Liam or Lizzie. He also doesn't take no for an answer. If he can't play some sort of video game, he'll chew you up and spit you back out, and think nothing of it. We're working on self-control with that one....lol. Finally there is Hope, my sweet little princess. She is the love of my life and EVERYONE worships the ground she walks on. She is so very loved and the center of our world. She is very smart, newly turned 2 and holds complete conversations with anyone who will listen. But now a new little princess has moved into our lives and we are all still getting to know her sweet little self. So far, she is two weeks old and eats 4 oz every 3 hours during the day, but will only eat about 2 oz at night and wakes up every 2-3 hours to eat. When she is awake, she's very alert and loves to stretch her legs out. She tries to focus her eyes on our faces and turns towards any voice she hears. She loves to listen to Nick Lachey's A Father's Lullaby Album.

So that is the kids in a nutshell. Here are a few pictures of everyone over the past few months. You can find more pictures of our family on my Instagram account @scoobyloves2004,

Welcome Isla Eloise!

Isla Eloise O'Donnell
Wow, I really need to keep up with this blog. Life has been so crazy this past year. New job for Sean, new state, new home and as of the 22nd of Feb., new baby! This is Isla Eloise. She was born on 2/22/16 at 4:18am, weighing 8 lbs 6 oz and 21 inches. She is our 9th baby, and last (I know I've said that before, but this time we mean it). She was a total suprise. I had no idea I was pregnant. When I found out, I have to be honest, I was not happy. We had 8 children already and we were happy with that number. Another baby meant we would have to move and had no idea where to go. We needed a home with at least 5 bedrooms in our price range. In the state we were living, that just wasn't possible. So, Sean had to make a decision to change jobs, which meant relocating to a state neither one of us were thrilled to move to, but there was an amazing job waiting for him there with a huge house we could all live in comfortably and it is in our price range. So, 6 months pregnant, we relocate to a new home and try to start over.
Isla- 1 week old

And here we are! I am slowly recovering. Not as quickly as I would like. I've have to be extra careful because I am at risk for hemorrhaging, with having as many children as I've had. All I can do is homeschool the kids. Poor Sean is working full time, making dinner and keeping up with my chores. I feel so guilty that I can't really help. I really look forward to spring break, so I can get a little extra rest.

Anyhow, this is all I have time for writing for now. The baby will be up soon for another feeding. I hope you are all doing well. Have a great weekend!

Meerkat

Since we finally finished our year-long homeschool, I've had more time to myself. I spend most of my life on Twitter and Instagram. I have been trying to find a way to promote homeschooling and an easier way to post my curriculum reviews. Well, my prayers have been answered!!!

Twitter has a new app for IOS users called #Meerkat. It's a way to stream live video right on to your Twitter account. It's still in its infancy (only been up for two weeks) but it is catching on quickly.

How does it work? Well, you just download the Meerkat app from the Apple app market, sign in using your Twitter sign in, and you're good to go! Just start recording, a link appears in your Twitter feed for your followers to click on. They are instantly brought to your live feed and can watch and comment instantly. The only downside is the notifications when someone you follow starts a live feed. If you follow a lot of people that use Meerkat, it goes off all the time. You can turn it off, but it really defeats the purpose of the app. Unless you happen to be on Twitter right when your friends are streaming, you'll miss the link, so the notifications are important.

I was so excited when Sean told me about this app. Now I can post live video of reviews or even play around with the kids. It's so much fun!!! If you have an iPhone, I highly recommend this app!!!! Check it out!

Declan Gets A Haircut

Wow, I can't believe how much this boy has grown. He isn't a little boy anymore. He's a full blown teenager. Attitude and mood swings included! Declan is 12.5 and headed into the sixth grade in a couple months. We are finishing up this school year this week. (It's been a LONG year) with the birth of Hope, the death of my beloved Aunt Rene, the introduction and exit of my biological father, Sean's new job and my health problems, we got a little behind this year. But we are happy to say we all made it through and are ready for a much needed two months off before we start our next school year.

This beautiful little princess turned 1 on January 23. She recently started walking and has learned to communicate by screeching for what she wants. Not my favorite trait, but she's still cute. I have had such a hard time letting her babyhood go. Since she is our last baby, I have tried to hold on to her as much as possible. I balled when she started walk. I knew then that I had to let her go. I've learned a lot about myself with this beautiful little blessing. I've learned that being a mother to a baby is such a blessing. It's the most rewarding stage of life, in my opinion. So much happens in that first year of life, and if you blink, you'll miss something.

Anyhow, I wish I had more time to blog. With my own school starting back up in a week, my time will be very limited. We are in the process of picking a new curriculum for the kids next year. We have narrowed it down to A Beka or Pearson. Both are really expensive, but writing my own lesson plans is for the birds! If any of my homeschooling followers have any reviews or suggestions on either of these curricula, it would be greatly appreciated!!

That's all for now. Have a great week!

Crazy Times

This has been some of the most stressful months we as a family have endured. We've gone through death, illness, long lost parents, unemployment, being totally broke and lots of stress. I don't have the time to go through EVERYTHING, but here is a quick rundown of our crazy 6 months....

- Death of my Aunt Rene

- Interview after Interview

- My long lost Father drops back into my life (after 35 years)

- Stomach bugs

-Urinary Infections

- Crazy Background Check

- Broke, Broke, and more Broke

- New Job!!!

- Crazy Trip to KS

- Sean gets food poisoning in KS (Don't ever eat the food in KS)

- Two Plus Months of Late Birthday Parties (Part of being broke)

-Finishing School

-Way Behind in Homeschool

- Hospitalized 84 Year Old Father

Yes, it has been a crazy 5-6 months. Not much of it was fun either. But the good news, Sean finally found a job that he is happy with and will pay the bills. He is back working with a major wireless carrier as a Business Account Manager. Its a little different than what he is use to, but he is a GREAT salesman and is going to KILL IT at this job!

On a crazier note, so the last time I posted, I saw a rather strange comment that sent chills down my spine. It was a comment made by a man with the same name as my biological father, Chuck Anderson. I instantly knew who it was, but wanted to be sure. So I sent him one single message and sure enough....it was him. Now I can't explain the emotions that went through me. You wouldn't be able to even remotely understand what I was feeling unless you went through it yourself. However, I will say I felt a rush of fear, happiness, anger, sadness, disgust, and even resentment. He gave no excuses, just that he was sorry he walked out on me and....5 or 6 other kids (not with my Mother). Of course before I even attempted to speak with him, we did a background check on him and didn't like what we found. Now some things are forgivable, but others....not so much. I spoke with him for a couple months, but when we ran into some serious financial troubles, I had to give up some communication. In the end, he calls himself "Dad" but my DAD is the amazing, wonderful, fun-loving guy who raised me since the day "Chuck" walked out of my life. I thought I could grow to accept him as a "dad", but it just doesn't feel right. He's kind of like the elderly lady next door, it was fun getting to know her, but then her true colors started to shine through, and they weren't so pretty.

With all the craziness, we had a huge setback in our home school and are still in the 3rd term. I am hoping to finish it up by December, so we can blow through the 4th term and finally take a much needed break and reassessment of our curriculum.

Well, I better get back to my 8 crazy kids. Mary just tripped Declan and to get back at her, he punched her in the stomach. Liam gave himself a buzz cut and the dogs just ate what was left of the chocolate birthday cake.....sigh, which Liam opened the fridge to allow access too....I really need a vacation....far....far....away.....

Here are a few pictures from birthdays, growing babies, and Sean's lack of actually working, while working...Have a great weekend!

Happy 6th Birthday Mary!

My beautiful baby girl Mary was born at 1am on this day six years ago. She is kind, careing, silly, outgoing, and a true leader. Not to mention, she got her Mother's good looks.....lol. We are so proud of you Marmie. Happy Birthday my princess!
